Wendy Welling is Director – Membership and Community Relations for LEAD San Diego. As such, she is responsible for LEAD’s graduate and community membership programs, as well as its senior leadership and venture capital initiative, The Leadership Trust. She is responsible for LEAD’s events, including The Visionary Awards, LEAD’s annual gathering, which typically draws 600-700 LEAD graduates, elected officials and community leaders and celebrates visionary leaders from all walks of life. She also plans The Graduate Member Celebration, an appreciation event which draws about 150-200 alumni, as well as a variety of other events over the course of each year. She is responsible for board relations, board recruitment efforts and program support, as well as marketing and communications and has been with LEAD since February 2001. Prior to joining LEAD San Diego, Welling worked for Advanced Marketing Services (AMS) in San Diego. She served as the company’s liaison with publishers and vendors. A California native, Welling lives in eastern Chula Vista.
